Welcome winner for MOB

A winner and some profit for MOB at last with Caracciola (9.5 on betfair) getting its 12 year old legs over the line first at York.

Elsewhere though we got no return, with only a place for one of the Equine picks today. This now stretches my losses to 8 days in a row...which will hardly put the fear of god into the bookies.

On a slightly brighter note the golf has taken a turn for the better today...though I won't hold my breath after last weeks final day.

Results from Today

7 days of losing in a row

It may take me a while to recover from the last 7 days...it has been truly awful. From looking at JP's blog a recovery is still possible....he took a beating and recovered brilliantly...so I have to have hope. Unfortunately already the golf bets are looking doubtful to bring in any sort of return this weekend.

Only one winner today, a short odds favourite for Probandit, Global in the 3.35 Goodwood.

Disaster averted by the Legends

Last bet of the day again saves the bank from a disaster. Thankfully Baby Strange (8/1) found its way home in 1st by a neck at Newcastle.

Elsewhere it is grim. I'm actually wondering this week if I can be bothered..maybe I'm just down from the result in Rome last night. But I am starting to wonder what the point is taking time everyday to put these bets on.

Probandit has gone into free fall, losing another 4 points plus today. At the same time I'm wondering if MOB will ever get another winner.

It's been woeful, with Equine now the only bright spark this month.

Just like last Tuesday....

A clean sweep of losers I'm afraid!

2 losers for the Legends , Oriental Girl (20/1) was 4th (only 15 in the race.. and Carribean Coral (4/1).

1 loser for Probandit, Location (4/1)..and 2 losers for Noseahead, Northern empire (7/1) and Tour Damour (16/1).

Wouldn't exactly call it a great start to the week( 4 days of losses in a row)...but surely things can only get better?

Not the best

Not the greatest start to the week with everyone playing today. No winners but a couple of decent e/w bets kept the losses to a minimum ( wish I could talk about profit again!).

Noseahead came "oh so close" to another big winner with Mymumsaysimthebest (16/1). The 1pt ew bet came so close to making it a memorable day..but it was not to be...though we took some profit on the place.

Probandit back in action after quite a few days of no bets dutched a single race today. In the end the big bet Assent (9/1) at Chepstow scraped home in 4th to save us a bashing. Probandit still remains well in front this month as my top tipster.

No winners for Equine, MOB or the Legends today....though if I had backed all the Legends bets today I would have had a winner and broken even with Tranquil Tiger winning at 4/1.

So onto tommorrow with hope..but really at this stage in the year....I have made little progress.

Sunday update

Looks like the golf isn't going to bring any joy to the weekend so I'll add it to the list. Looked promising for maybe 3 placings this morning on long odds shots.....but all 3 had an unconvincing day.

Very quiet on the racing today with a good place for Orpenindeed at 20/1 for Noseahead. Really regretting missing the 16/1 winner last week for MOB as they drew a blank today from 2 races and unfortunately I am now sitting at just over minus 19 points for the month.

Roll on a hot sunny successful week!

Hammered on a Saturday again

Getting well peeved off with this now. Another Saturday destruction to add to practically every other Saturday this year. My luck just isn't in at the weekend. Yes, we had some good runs from big odds bets and yes, my plan to only do Legends strong bets at the weekend looks silly now( They had two 6/1 winners today..non strong bets)...but the results below are all that really matter. The fact is if I didn't bet at the weekend this year..My bank would literally have thousands more in it. Rant over!

Friday Update

Going to be short tonight..just got in and its close to midnight.

Most notable today was my first day with Noseahead. Have been watching his blog like a hawk and today decided he was one to follow. He didn't let me down with a profit of just over 10 points on my first day thanks to Fell Pack winning at Newcastle (took 10/1 though SP was 14/1).

A couple of winners for Tipping Legends also today in the shape of Jafaru (9/4) and Equuleus Pictor (6/1).

Results from Today

  • Noseahead...........Profit of £507.55
  • Tipping Legends... Profit of £209.95

  • Probandit.............Loss of £72.50

Damn weather

I'm hoping all this rain will drain the clouds of further rain over the next few months..once again its affecting my betting bank.

Only the Legends and Equine played today and I didn't get much in return. Puy D'arnac (5/1) was the main bet for the Legends today finishing 4th. We did get a good e/w return though on Koraleva Tectona (14/1) but that was it for the day. Equine finished with two losers today also.

Results from Today

  • Equine .................Loss of £300.00
  • Tipping Legends.....Loss of £87.50

Right direction

Nothing spectacular today but a couple of winners was good enough to put us back on the right track.

MOB found one of the winners today in Alwaary (4/1 though 5/1SP) at Goodwood. Their other bet Brazilian Brush (16/1), also the only bet of the day for the Legends, finished well down in 14th.

Probandit's safety bet at the 4.20 Lingfield Kipchak (5/1) beat the system horses but still gave us some small profit.

First whitewash for a while

Nearly forgot what it was like to have a day of all bets losing......now ones arrived I remember I didn't like them too much!

Today's losing bets were Lonely Star (11/1) for MoB, for Equine Can Can Star (12/1 all the way down to 7/1 in a matter of seconds) , for Probandit Iceman George (8/1) and finally for the Legends Arniecoco (5/1) .

A quiet day but an unsuccessful day...lets hope for a repeat of Monday sometime during the week.

Well pleased

Thoughts of yesterday's missed profit were quickly forgotten about today as I took in a healthy profit. Top scorer today was again Probandit with a host of horses covered in 3 races. We managed a winner in the 4.10 Southwell , Pepin (12/1), a winner in the 4.40 , Miss Glitters (3/2) and two places in the 5.10 for Wiltshire (13/2) and Bold Diva (7/2). Was very nervy, staking out over a grand on 3 races, but Paul today got the staking and the results correct.

Equine kicked off a good start with a win for Aureate (mostly 5/2) also at Southwell.

MOB whose 16/1 winner yesterday was by-passed by me had some ridiculous bad luck today. I watched the highlights of the 2.20 Newton Abbot on At the Races website. Mic Aubin, matched at 13 on betfair, was 8 lengths clear with one to jump. The horse then did a swerve just before the last, I think un-nerved by a faller at the previous fence, and unseated the rider. Unbelievable! Honestly its worth watching just to see it. Their last bet of the day Mezzanisi has just won at Wolverhampton, but I didn't get matched at the minimum odds...grrr.

Nothing from the Legends with just the one strong bet today.

That will teach me!

Just got in to find an email waiting for me from Marc from MOB! His only bet of the day Fortunate Dave, which I could have taken 16/1 at Sky, won at Market Rasen! This was the big winner I was waiting for this month too!

To make matters worse I just checked the two Tipping Legends results. Both Ponty Rossa (9/2) and Pokanoket (7/2) won their races!

Hands up guys I feel a touch foolish and hope that no one else followed my advice....

Will update the golf tomorrow as Hoffman is still in with an outside chance.

No doubt I won't be sleeping too well tonight!

Not worth bothering

Again with the crappy weather and my growing dislike for weekend betting I'm having a day off. Will update later with results of those tipsters who played today and the weekly golf results, which arn't looking like giving us a return unless we have a few outstanding last rounds.

Good luck if you do wager today.

Saturday 16 May 2009

Saturday update

Glad I took a day off the nags today. Two losers for MOB and four for The Legends would have left me £300.00 down for the day.

Will review the weather tomorrow and see if it is worth betting.

Too wet to bet!

Have tips in from MOB and the Legends today...but with the ground changing too much after more rain last night...I'm going to leave it today. Will update later to let you know how the bets got on.

Friday 15 May 2009

Nice start to the weekend

Profit from two services today spelt profit overall for me on the day.

Best performer was Probandit today with two winners from two dutched races. Both races were at Dundalk and the high achievers were Fisher Hill (6/1) and Ask Jack (5/1). (Edit) Just noticed I only bet £50 ew on Ask Jack instead of £75 ew..so have missed out on a couple of points(idiot)!!!

Up the ladder for the Legends today. Two bets and one winner, a three point nap, "Ask" at York (9/4)

Mob finished the York festival, by my betting, just over 2 points down. I would have taken that after the first day with open arms. A couple of winners again today through Ask and Nashmiah (7/2). However as with all festival betting 2 wins does not make a profit due to the level of racing covered. Hopefully another good price winner is just down the road.

Just as a warning to everyone...the rain is falling. I will certainly be keeping an eye on the ground and reports from the tracks. One thing I have learnt from the last two crappy summers is that if it consistently rains.....keep your money in your pocket!

Results from Today

Small loss

Mob was the saviour today with a couple of winners at York today. It was a fairly decent recovery from the first day with wins for Crystal Capella (15/8) and Anglezarke (10/1). I did miss one losing bet though..think someone phoned me mid betting...for which I can now thank them!

Elsewhere nothing from the Legends..who seem to be having a 1 step up 3 steps down kinda month. Losers today for Northern Fling (16/1), Lang Shining (7/1), Lovelace (16/1) and Soundbyte (5/1). At least they are going for high odds bets and again as I said with Mob yesterday it only takes one or two of them to come in and we are back on the right road. The sooner the better though!

Yesterdays top performer Probandit had a speculative bet on Shaimaa (8/1) at Gowran Park. They didn't manage the hat trick of wins though.

Scary Day

I left the office today with two races left, knowing that if both lost I would have a loss of £1200.00 for the day. It didn't exactly make the drive home comfortable. To lose that much after a successful last two days would have been gutting.

Poor day for MOB. It would appear the "curse of the festival specials" has not left me yet. After the wipe out of the last two Legends festivals, the first day of the York Dante meeting produced no winners for MOB. Two points on this: firstly I placed all MOB bets on betfair today. Why is it when I bet on betfair I never win? If I lay, the horse wins...if I back, I never win. I am an expert on emptying a betfair account! Secondly on a more hopeful note MOB went for quite a few high odds bets today..........it just takes a couple of these to strike over the next two days to get the festival back in shape..profit wise.

No luck for either Tipping Legends or Equine at York today either, and the Legends 3 point nap King Ar Aghaidh (5/2) was disappointing at Fontwell.

So all that was left was the Probandit bets with me staring down the barrel of a £1200.00 loss. I needed at least one win to save some face on the day. My luck was in though with two £75 e/w bets both winning in the form of Cnocan Gold (7/2) Naas and then later Pelham Crescent (9/4) at Bath.

So I was lucky today..but thanks to Probandit the day was saved. Lets hope for a better start tomorrow.

Two top days in a row!

Great performance from both Equine and the Legends today with both pulling off really good profit today.

Equine had two wins from two bets today. Bad news for me though was I was in a meeting until 12.30 or so and missed the early prices..costing me at least 2 points. Nevertheless I managed a win for Noodles Blue Boy (2/1) though advised at 4/1) Beverley and a win for Seneschal (11/4 advised at 7/2) at Brighton. May have another meeting tomorrow morning also... that damn job getting in the way again!

The Legends also managed returns from both bets today. Pacific Pride winning at mostly 15/2 (Beverley) and a place late on for St Mellion Freeway (7/1) at Newton Abbot.

MOB had just the one running bet today in Hart of Gold at Brighton. Managed to get 9/4, however no profit on the day.

Probandit was busy with 3 races covered today. Only the one winner though, a safety bet in the 5.20 Warwick, Coral Shores at 9/2. Could have reduced the losses though if had followed their advise about taking Barbirolli in the same race as a place on betfair(4 places)...however I didn't and of course it finished 4th.

Results from Tuesday

  • Equine................Profit of £533.99
  • Tipping Legends.. Profit of £463.00

Monday update

A much needed surprise profit for Monday nearly all down to a superb double for Equine. An early win for the first leg at Wolverhampton Harry Up (4/5), followed up later by the second leg win by Roar of Applause (7/2) (a roar matched in my house) brought in over 10 points on the day.

Also profit for MOB , with Diamond Laura (mostly 3/1) winning at Wolverhampton. Nothing though for Abbodanza (8/1) or for Walton Way (5.71 BF).

Just the one strong bet for Legends on Monday , though Wizards Dust (15/2) never really got started in the 8.00 Towcester.

Results from Monday

  • Equine..............Profit of £1002.48
  • MOB.................. Profit of £45.75

Usual poor end to another poor weekend

Losses all round for Sunday..though today i implemented my first change which was to only cover Tipping Legends strong bets from Saturday to Monday...then do all bets Tuesday to Friday. Doing this to me makes no sense at all i.e not betting just because of the day it is...but the stats are saying that changes have to be made. We will see how it goes and can always alter at a later date.

Of the two strong bets today for the Legends we managed a place for Not For Diamonds (13/2) at Plumpton and nothing from Allonby Bay 11/2 at Uttoxeter. I skipped the other two lower rated bets and both had no return.

MOB also could do with a nice priced winner to get the month up and running. Nothing today from a high priced Elvis Returns(BFSP of 21/1) at Southwell or from Space Cowboy (6/1) at Plumpton.

Probandit managed a place on its safety bet Three Rocks (7/2) but nothing for the main bet Mad About You (7/4).

Posting up the weeks golf losses also tonight. Boo Weekly withdrew on the final day. Not sure what the ruling on that will be with regards to getting my stake back...though I would be 99% sure I won't see it again.

Results from Today

Stats starting to add up!

I'm afraid this weekend betting lark is going to have to be cut to some part. Was going to make changes this weekend but for some reason backed out of it...dumb or what? No more backing out from now on...changes are to be made!

On the plus side today two services made a profit. Probandit had a winner with Shaded Edge (mostly 100/30) in the last at Lingfield. They also managed a place with Guest Connections at Thirk (5/1). MOB started the day nicely also with a win for Font (3/1) Haydock and a place for the long shot Caukleys Bank (14/1) Hexham.

Another horrible Saturday for the Legends though, with Hot Diamond (18/1) at Haydock placing for the only return on the day.

Two seconds for Equine also today..so no return either.

Hopefully this will be the last time for a while I will be posting substantial losses on a Saturday!

Results from Today

Massive betting day

Outlay was huge today and thankfully I got a return..but the way it started I was hoping for more. Way too many bets to cover today on the blog so lets just concentrate on the winners!

Probandit had a huge day and it couldn't have started any better. Pha Mai Blue won at mostly 10/1 and bits of 9/1 in the first race of the day at Lingfield. Nothing else from the other races today though 2 bets were withdrawn. I had hoped to build on the brilliant start but it was not to be.

The Legends finally got some success at Chester today. Two winners, Buccelatti at 11/4 and Dr Parkes 13/2, and a place for Fathsta at 11/1 set us up for some good healthy profit.

MOB also won with Buccelatti but gained nothing else with the 2 other higher odds bets of City Dancer and Stevie Gee.

Two losers for Equine in the shape of Formidable Guest 7/1 (also backed by Probandit) and Ermyn Lodge 6/1.

Results from Today

Thursday update

Running very late tonight so will be a brief update.

The Legends gave us some much needed profit today, though it was outside the festival. A nap 3 point win for Classic Swain(Newton Abbot) won at 11/4. We also gained from places for Foundation Room 14/1 (Chester) and Mtoto's Prince 7/1 in our last bet at Wincanton.

Probandit, back in action after a few days of no bets, also got us a winner. It was however the safety bet Doctor Freemantle 8/5 that won, with the main bet Expresso 5/2 Star finishing 3rd (2.15 Chester).

Nothing for MOB (two losers in Mutawarath (Goodwood) and Cyflymder (Chester), and a second for the in form Equine with Tartan Gunna 5/2 finishing 2nd at the 3.15 Chester.

Just need to get profit from two services in the same day to get the bank moving back up!

Not so good

Today I think showed again the need for a good balanced portfolio. Over the last few weeks Tipping Legends have been making profit while my other services maybe had the odd bad day. Today Equine saved the day with the Legends current blip continuing. At least I know now that they can have a bad day even if it isn't the weekend!

It is of course disappointing to lose so many points in the last few days but it is still only the 6th of May. A couple of 20 point days should do the trick! They are well capable of it and I hope they don't change any systems to placate those complaining on forums and go for short priced winners.

Equine's winner came in the big race of the day at Chester with Sohraab winning at bits of 7/2 down to 3/1. Prices didn't plummet quite as quickly today on a much lower odds pick.

MOB avoided non runners today but had no real luck. Angus Newz placing third at Chester and Nawamees not placing at Bath. No doubt they will soon be back on track.

Results from Today

  • Equine.......... Profit of £500.05
  • MOB...............Loss of £100.00
  • Tipping Legends Loss of £550.00

Breakeven Tuesday

Just updating after watching the match tonight...still in a bit of shock over the Fletcher sending off. Very unlucky for a player to miss a final because of a referee mistake...hopefully common sense will prevail.

Moving onto today's racing...MOB's uncanny nack of picking non runners continued today..with 2 from 3 bets not running! The one that did race, Arniecoco at Exeter, ran very well to finish second at 10/1 on a place bet.

Only other service in action today was the Legends. They also managed 1 non runner and also a good place for Lordsbridge , also at Exeter, and also mostly at 10/1.

Results from Today

  • MOB............... Profit of £26.80
  • Tipping Legends Loss of £29.24

Fight back

Much better day today thanks to Equine and Probandit. I'm splashing about alot more cash at the moment so I guess we will have "higher" highs and much "lower" lows.

Equine kicked of their season today with a 1 pt win for Captain Macarry advised at 10/1. I got nowhere near that price with bits of 8/1 down to 7/1. No doubt there are betting relay rings trying to destroy this service and also I have no doubt the bookies have Equine bets marked. The earlier bet at 2pts Resentful Angel finished a close second.

Probandit kept me waiting today at the 4.40 Warwick . Everaard originally finished second at 7/2. A lenghty 30 minute stewards enquiry got me the right result. I haven't seen the race but from what I've read it was obvious that the result was going to be reversed. Why it took 30 minutes i have no idea.

Nothing for Tipping Legends today or for MOB, though Formula was pipped by a short head for MOB at Windsor 9/4.

If only the weekend had been rained off!

Miserable, dreadful, horrible ...etc..etc. The worst weekends betting since Allroundtipster collapsed on its last weekend of betting in January. Only one winner today and it was part of a failed double..so no points there. Just going to post up the results summary and try and put the weekend behind me. I will decide over the week whether I ditch weekend betting full stop, ( I think I have already decided though!) as it has been the downfall of my year so far.

Saturday Crash

Today's results wiped out a fair bit of the profit made over the last week or so.. I guess that's the way it goes! Not going to spend any time listing the losers but will mention the one winner today which was for MOB in the very last bet. High Standing won at mostly 5/1 at Doncaster after being backed into 9/4.

Will need to seriously consider what to do about weekend betting as this year it has cost me a small fortune.

Usual start after upping stakes!

Interesting day for the 1st of May. Firstly I have upped Probandit's stakes to £100 per point. Secondly one of my most successful services of last year started its season today in the form of Equine Investments. Neither started the month very well!

Probandit's 3 point dutch in the 3.05 Southwell failed as expected on new stakes. Does anyone ever get off to a good start when they up their stakes?

Equine Investments keenly anticipated first bet of the season Cheveton 11/4 at Musselburgh finished second.

Another non runner for MOB ...so it was up to the Legends to save the day. And, as seems to be the way at the moment, they delivered once again. A place for Bouggler at mostly 16/1 and a winning 3 point bet at 7/4 for Copper Bleu, both at Punchestown, ensured a good profit for the Legends to reduce the overall loss on the day. Indeed when their final bet,Thirty Two Red at Bangor, came in from 7/1 to 4/1 SP I was thinking we were on for further profit. It was not to be though.
