Tuesday update

Quiet again with only Probandit having bets running. Two races covered and one winner with Ithser winning the 2.30 Brighton at 3/1, which was enough to bring in small profits. Will do the month and year to date figures tomorrow though on first glance I may be slightly in profit. This however will be solely down to Probandit (my steady eddie) who managed to bring in just over 17 points of profit. The rest sadly showed loses as per my betting , and possibly due to prices I was able to achieve.

Nice and quiet

Blissfully quiet day with only one running bet after the Equine non runner. Probandit scored a place with Singora Lady (3/1) at Pontefract. The increased stake on the betfair place ensured a small profit. Looking forward to reading JP's blog later on to see how he has fared with his 1 week break from betting. I feel like 6 weeks off might sort me out!

Back to basics

Wow...I can't believe I managed to lose so much on a Sunday. Usually a quiet day for me but today was busy...and I ended up with nothing more than a huge loss. A loss of £775.00 on a Sunday cannot be acceptable any longer

I have to be pragmatic now. And this means I will be going back to doing only the services I really had planned to do all year from Monday onwards. I will no longer be following the golf( way too long term for me), MOB or Noseahead (both great services but not for me at the moment). The Legends strategy of doing only the strong bets at the weekend is not working for me either. They will be followed only on Wednesday to Friday (except for festivals). The Form Analyst will be added to the portfolio.

It just isn't happening for me this year and while I don't like chopping and changing (no doubt the services I am leaving behind will have their best periods ever) I don't feel it is a sign of weakness in being pragmatic. I need to put an end to this ridiculous up and down cycle I am going through which I believe may be caused by covering too many bets. Only time will tell if I have made the correct decision.

Will edit results if we get a return on the golf.
*Edit* A nice way to end my golf betting with an e/w place for Ryan Moore at 60/1. A great service but too long term for me..but nice to get out with a nice profit still intact. Good luck to anyone following the golf.

Total Rubbish

Single place for Probandit who has saved us all week. Other than that losses from all the other services , which at least you can say makes them consistent. Once again any good done during the week is vapourised at the weekend. Going nowhere, except backwards, fast as has been the story the whole year.

Maybe I'll be in a better mood tomorrow.

Probandit saves the day

Probandit delivered the only wins today with a 2 out of 2 record. Rio Cobolo (7/2 R4) won the 8.15 Chester and Noodles Blue Boy (7/2) sneaked home by a neck to win the 9.30 Newcastle.

The poor week continues for Equine and Legends..both scoring blanks today. Nothing for MOB either with a couple of singles and a speculative e/w double.

Again today I messed up the Noseahead bet and backed it e/w instead of to win. Luckily Ingleby Arch managed a place and some profit was made.

So as we move into the weekend it has been a week of Probandit saving the day, pulling in its 4th day of consecutive profit. Golf bets are looking good at the moment too.......but no chickens will be counted just yet.

Solid day for the Bandit

Another good day for Probandit who managed to score some profit from each of Paul's 4 tips today.
Wins for Silenceofthewind (5/2) at Newcastle and later on at Tipperary, Conry (mostly 12/1). The places were Justcallmehandsome (9/1) at Warwick and Liberty Island (9/2) in the 6.20 Tipperary.

Elsewhere though we drew a blank....

Equine's Peter Island (9/2) , the Legends Charlie Tipple (6/1) and Tribe (11/4), along with Mob's Ben Chorley (6/1) had no success.

Missed a late bet for Mob last night which of course won. The email came in while I was manning the BBQ armed with a beer. I missed the bet and Scielin won at 3/1. Still it was a BBQ not to be missed!

Equine stops the rot

As is normal with Equine Investments they try to break up a dry run with a few lower odds bets. Today they managed two wins at the lower odds range and they were gratefully accepted. April Fool won at mostly 5/2 in the 7.40 Bath and then in the 9.10 Bateleur won at 9/4 to 2/1. Missed the early prices on the second one due to those damn work commitments!

Probandit also tipped Bateleur. This time I took a 9/5 BOG hoping it would drift..which it didn't!

The Legends managed 2 good priced places out of 3 bets. Raslan (12/1) was beaten by a neck by the favourite who managed a course record at Worcester I believe.

Much better ..lets hope we can keep it up this week.

Tiny bit of profit

Some profit is better than no profit . Not much today but we did manage 2 winners but really should have had 3.

Probandit won its first bet of the day. Thankfully I took a lower price with a BOG bookie and the price drifted from 3/1 to an SP of 7/2. Summer Dancer the winner in the 3.15 Beverley. The next race saw me faced with a NR in a dutched race. The system horse was the non runner and the saver was the bet left in the race. So I left it. The saver, Traphalgar (4/1), of course went onto win!

Mob had two bets today with a single winner. Patavium Prince winning at 5.05 on betfair.

Negative movements for both the Legends and Noseahead.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday update!

Throwing these 3 days together as I have been too lazy to do the updates the last few days. Probably it more likely lack of motivation rather then laziness that has caused the interruption in my updates. However I have spent the evening going over my recent results and things actually aren't as bad as I felt they were. Nearly all the tipsters I am following this month are either in profit or are just slightly the wrong side of break even. The main reason, on review, for my disappointment most likely comes from Equines recent run. The drop of 20 odd points or £2k in the last couple of weeks has not helped my moral. Looking back though on last year I am being short sighted. Last year in July they had an even worse run and recovered well. So patience is something I must keep a hold of!

The last 3 days haven't been vintage profit days but there has been a few close run things. The Legends tip Cannonball (20/1) at Ascot on Saturday came really close to pulling off a big profit win. Anthony at Noseahead has been knocking on the door of some big odds wins...but they are not quite hitting the mark for him at the moment. MOB pulled in a nice 1 win from 1 bet today with Belated Silver (BFSP 4.9).

Much better

Thankfully after yesterdays gloom we had a corker of a day. However my gloom won't totally lift until my fear that it will all go south again has been taken away.

Nice winners for the Legends today. Perfect Stride (11/1 to 10/1) was the big 2pt win, which was quickly followed up by a win for Holberg (10/1).

Mob also took a large step towards diverting an absolute disaster of a festival. Father Time winning at 12's on betfair and then quickly followed by a superb run by Ghanaati to win at 3.7 on betfair.

I certainly don't envy the tipsters doing these festival specials. The pressure to offer a bet on every race must make them a particularly difficult time. I'm sure they will be glad to be back to a normal week!

Dear O Dear

Dreadful again today. I think now without adding the figures up I am probably behind for the year. So basically six months of putting bets on , taking into account subscriptions paid, I would have been better putting the money in a bank account even with the crappy interest rates about at the moment.

It is becoming more and more difficult to write this blog up as well every evening...

There is still over 6 months left in the year and the betting bank is still solid so my hope is that things must improve. On review of JP's P&L figures I can't help noticing that at the end of May if he didn't follow SLH and had been unlucky enough to miss the big Noseahead reverse forecast he would also be in a loss position. Just goes to show how difficult this game is.

Pitifully bad

Managed to lose over £900 today which considering most of it was on £50 per point is pretty pathetic to be honest. I am beginning to hate these damn festivals..picking a winner is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I'm on "another" horrendous run giving back anything I had gained in the last few weeks. My back is still sore and so is my mind from the racing results. Utter frustration to sum up. Would list the winners below..but there aren't any.

Tuesday update

I have managed to do my back in somehow and it is agony..so I'll keep this short tonight.

Winners for the Legends and a good place for Noseahead kept the losses down. Once again though, and this time I'm blaming back pain, I messed up the Noseahead bet managing to only do a half point e/w instead of a full point.

Poor first day for MOB at Ascot, though it was going to be feast or famine , as Marc went for huge odds bets.

Hopefully this back pain will vanish overnight and we can have a better day tomorrow racing wise.

Saving the winners for Ascot.. I hope!

Not a winner in sight today and a pretty heavy day in all. With 3 losing bets from Equine , which is my most heavily weighted tipster in terms of staking, it was going to be hard not to have a bad day.

One bet each and one loss each for both Mob and Noseahead left us with a blank.

A lucky day

It would appear that, as could have been predicted, since I started doing only strong bets for the Tipping Legends from Saturday to Tuesday the only bets that win are the ones I don't wager on! I bet on the strong bet today and it came 2nd while two of the 1 point bets at 6/1 and 4/1 both won. Typical!!

Second bit of unluckiness came today with MOB's bets. 5 bets today and 1 really good win for Mutawarath. Now I could have got 14 or 15 on betfair but for some reason I let it lie to take SP if it didn't match at the high price order I had placed. I ended up with only 6.39 on betfair , though this did take into account a massive rule 4. So I lost a good few points of profit there.

Now why is my title called "A lucky day"? Well the reason is down to Probandits bet at Bath. Green Goose won (11/2 to 5/1) at Bath. However Paul had suggested you lay for a few point as well as the price should come in. I did this and then noticed at the start of the race the price had drifted slightly on betfair so tried to match the lay off by backing the horse. I messed this up somehow. However the outcome was that I ended up with nearly £350 extra profit because of my error. That's why this was a "Lucky Day"! I will add this extra profit to my Probandit total even though strictly it should go under a "cock up that turned out ok" column!

With the golf bets pretty much over I will do what any good politician would do and put them through tonight hiding them amongst today's profit. I didn't back the golf bet from the Ladies Portugal Open as I couldn't get any money on it with it only available at Sky. I think it has lost anyhow.

Snakes and Ladders

Up the ladder yesterday and back down the snake today. Clean sweep of losers for yesterday's best performers Equine and the Legends.

The other three services actually made profit today but it was not nearly enough to counteract the big losses from the two mentioned above.

Laish Ya Hajar won at 7/2 for Probandit, Gonebeyondrecall won for MOB (disappointing SP though of 2.77) . I did a place/win on betfair for Noseahead's big odds ew bet on Stoneacre Lad. This was a stroke of luck as betfair payed out on 4th place, which is where the bet ended up at 6.04 betfairsp.

Not a great start to the weekend even with profit for 3 out of 5 services but I'lll move on with hope even though the golf bets are pretty much buried already.

Busy day at work

Just read JP's blog about the equine bet today. As i was lucky enough to be busy as hell in work (Did I just type lucky?) I missed the extra information about the sodden track at Yarmouth. I probably would have laid off the whole bet. The unlucky side of being at work was that I missed the early price and managed 9/2 on Tyfos but still pulled in a sweet profit.

Elsewhere a poor start by the Legends turned into a great evening. Described on the SBC forum as "20 minutes of pure quality" we had winners at the 7.40 Uttoxeter( El Bandindos 15/2) and then in the 8.00 Fontwell (Knock Em Dead 10/1).

MOB came close 10 minutes later at Uttoxeter with Last Pioneer (9.74 betfairsp) on a win/place bet being pipped by the favourite.

Again from reading JP's blog (What a fountain of knowledge it is!) I have noticed I also missed two bets from Noseahead from not reading my text properly. This is the second time in a week or so I have missed a tip from Noseahead. Both times I have been lucky as they were losing bets......but I need to sort myself out as good tipster as he is will soon strike a big odds winner...and I don't want to miss it.

Great day racing ..now I can focus my mind on who is going to replace the best player in the world at Utd!

Bookies Reprisal

It appears the bookies are getting their own back on me since Saturday. Total number of bets today = 5. Total number of losers today =5.

Unlucky bet of the day was Equine's Papillio (3/1). Perhaps with a better start it would have won but a neck was the length of defeat.

End of the week

Bit disappointing after yesterday not to move the profit up the ladder again but I won't get too many like that in the near future.

MOB came closest at Brighton day, in a race also covered by Probandit. Mob's Patavium Prince (5/1) came 2nd with Probandit's Napoletano (5/2) down in 5th. Only other bet of the day was for Noseahead. Angle of Attack (24 on Betfair) came 6th.

Totally conclude with Jp's comments on the golf as again today it was frustrating as another hopeful slipped away. But golf tipping is the definitive long term betting..so we must be patient.

First Class Tipping

Had the best day of the year today. Not only did the Legends recover to make a festival profit but MOB also pulled off a spectacular day.

I'll start with MOB first. 4 bets 3 winners and a second by a nose. Winners were Breeze Out (6/1 but Rule 4'rd 55p), Roman Republic (5/1) and Blue Tomato (12.52 BetfairSP). Nearly 20 points of profit to stop the horrible run they had been on dead in its tracks. Really pleased with them today and hope we can get things back on track now.

The Legends were terrific today. Extra pressure was on after yesterdays clean sweep. I have had a plan to do only strong bets from Saturday to Monday and then back everything. Today I had a feeling they were going to go well. Thankfully I was right. We started with a 25/1 winner with River Captain. Also winning was Indian Trail (10/1) and places for Storyland (9/1) and Northern Dare (4.9 Betfair SP). As I said yesterday I'm not interested in how they pick their bets..all that matters to me is that the "Tips do the Talking". Well done to them today also.

A good each way for Equine with Tepmokea (10/1) was placed 2nd behind River Captain. An e/w place Good Buy Dubai (5/1) followed by a win Feeling Foxy (4/1) brought in 3 points profit for Probandit.

An excellent day with a total profit of £2202.65...no wonder I have a smile tonight! Well done guys keep it up.

Back down to earth with a bump

Another "Special" disaster for the Legends I'm afraid...all bets losing today. Quite a bit of banter on the SBC forum tonight concerning the service. I must say though I would prefer it was left with the "Tips doing the Talking". In the end its a results game..

Elsewhere Equine managed a place from 3 bets, but again came as close as a head to another great day with Look Here coming ever so close.

Tipster and punter confidence is low for MOB with another washout today. 3 more bets failing to produce.

Probandit managed a winner in Mythical Blue (7/4) and a place Pontentiale (6/1) to breakeven for the day.

I did get a bit of luck today (despite a gloomy day) with the Noseahead bets. Firstly I misread a text and backed Red Cape (11/1) with a full point instead of half a point..it won! Then I missed the last bet text which lost and I saved another half point! So not all bad today.

Thursday update

More daily profit today which is all that matters in the end. Just the one winner though. But it was enough to make profit.

Equine pulled in the winner today with Baizically at Hamilton. As per usual with my restrictions at bookmakers I managed very little at 13/2 and the bulk of the bet was at 5/1. Nevertheless at this stage in the season they are showing the quality they have shown over the last few years.

As I was at the gym tonight I missed the Noseahead bet, which I believe had the horse had a better start, I would have missed out on a big win. In the end I saved myself £100 by missing the bet.

No luck for the Legends today and it was disappointing to see the 2pt bet unseat the rider at the 2nd fence..but that's the way it goes. Much hysteria on the SBC website concerning the "phantom bet" or error by the tipsters today. I had it backed before they amended or canceled the bet..but again that's the way it goes. I am trying to focus on long term profit ( as hard as it is sometimes) and a 1pt error will not , on the scale of things make a lot of difference.

Excellent day

Profit from 4 out of 5 services today to notch up my best day for a long, long while.

Equine..one bet one winner Salerosa (11/4 down to 2/1) at Ayr.

Really good day for Probandit scoring from 3 out of 3 races. Esoterica (3/1), Salerosa (15/8,bet came after Equine!) and a place for the big drifter Cativo Cavallino (SP 10/1).

The Legends looked doomed to a daily loss after the first two bets lost. Up stepped Miss Midnight at Fontwell to score a place at 40/1. This was enough to turn a loss into a profit.

Noseahead had a similar day to the Legends. Two losses and then a late bet on City of the Kings in the 8.10 Ripon. I played this half stake win and half on place at betfair. Managed 42 for win and 9 for place. Only got the place but came so close to a big win at big odds. Again this turned the day to a profit.

Only MOB had no success today, and while it is frustrating I must hold my nerve and hopefully the form will come back.

At Last!

The run of daily losses is over..thank goodness( trying to use polite language!)

Took until 9pm ish until another daily loss was turned into a profit with a win for Gloucester (7/2 and 100/30) . The 3 point win for the Legends could have been better as I didn't manage to get any of the 4/1 quoted in the tip email. Still I am well pleased with a win from the Legends only bet of the day.

Elsewhere profit for Probandit with Champain Sands (BOG 100/30) being the only win out of 4 horses tipped in 2 races.

A single winner for Equine with solid favourite Anjomarba (8/11). A 3 favourite treble was undone by a 50/1 winner..so a bit unlucky there.

No return from a single bet for Noseahead...and nothing from 3 MOB bets whose recent form is starting to cause slight concern.
